- 10TH DEATH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF FR. RUFUS "POPONG HALLEY
On August 27, 2011 the 10th Death Anniversary of Fr. Rufus "Popong" Halley was celebrated at the Our Lady of Peace Parish in Malabang. The celebration was opened with a mass at 6.00 in the morning by Fr. Jude Genovia as the main celebrant. The mass had been attended mostly by the people coming from the parishes of Marawi, Balabagan, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, and Malabang. A simple breakfast then was served after the mass with the congregation. We then proceeded to the Our Lady of Peace School where the students prepared a half a day program as a way of commemorating Fr. Popong's 10th Death Anniversary.
The community is happy to have the presence of the two Columban priests; Frs. Jude Genovia and Kevin McHugh, Bishop Edwin de La Pena, Fr. Chito Suganob, Fr. Nilo Tabana, Missionary of Jesus priests (MJ) Frs. Roger and Premo in the celebration. We thank the Lord for the successful activities that day despite of the tension that had been happening during the week in Malabang. Photos...
